Who We Are!

The St. Petersburg Sail & Power Squadron (SPSPS) is one of approximately 450 squadrons of the United States Power Squadrons (USPS), a nonprofit boating organization. The USPS was formed in 1914 and the St. Petersburg Sail & Power Squadron was chartered in 1939.

SPSPS is a fraternal organization serving the general St. Petersburg, Florida area. Our members promote nautical safety by participating in a variety of enjoyable activities. We have over 300 members from St. Petersburg and the surrounding communities who are actively involved in sail and power boating.

Our membership is made up of individuals from all walks of life and backgrounds who share a love of boating. Members participate and volunteer on a variety of committees and programs and teach educational courses to help promote boating safety. One does not need to own a boat to become a member and to participate in these activities.

We provide valuable civic services, participate in fraternal activities and advance our boating knowledge through self-education.
